PublishingWorks, Inc. is a New England independent book press that has grown steadily since its launch in 2003. Begun originally as a subsidy press specializing in local titles, it is now a traditional publishing house with a list of fine literary and genre fiction, and nonfiction titles. PublishingWorks has retained the imprint of J. N. Townsend Publishing, which has specialized in animal books since 1986. PublishingWorks has published the likes of Stephen F. Cohen, Bente Gallagher, Michael Sullivan, Kay Pfaltz, and Roxie Zwicker. All PublishingWorks titles are distributed by Publishers Group West.
