Pure Apnea was established in June 2012 at a time when it became clear that a freediving organisation with a standards-before-profits philosophy was greatly needed. Pure Apnea provides the highest quality freediving education and standards. Ensuring that our students receive the best instruction starts by demanding the highest levels of freediving ability from our instructors. Our Master Instructor qualification requires a 50-60m freedive from candidates; the highest industry standard! Our training materials are modern, logically structured and are free of marketing and advertising messages. Our education system is highly dynamic allowing us to update materials with the latest techniques and knoweldge. Pure Apnea is the global leader in recreational freediving education as it is the only certifying body that offers a complete recreational education system from beginner to instructor that focuses on 'Adventure Freediving' - freediving safely in open water without the aid of a dive line with the aim of exploring and viewing marine life.While not spoken of much in the freediving community, Pure Apnea has already certified several thousand students across the globe and welcomed over 100 freediving professionals to our ranks. Pure Apnea courses are monitored globally to ensure consistency and quality.
