Rag Dreams' Weavers Association (RDWA) is a youth-based non-profit that envisions creating an empathetic society (as opposed to a sympathetic one) for street-connected children by fostering passionate youth who are curious to build upon an understanding of children that are linked to the street- situations. In pursuance of this, we utilize the child-rights approach as detailed under the UN General Comment No.21.We are a global network of Consortium for Street Children, UK. In collaboration with Peace First and North-Central Railways India, we run Volunteer and Learning Mentorship Programs to systematically connect and expose youth to the realities of street-connected. The program focuses on developing 21st-century skills and finding sustainable interventions on the ground.RDWA started in 2017 as an informal initiative by childhood friends disturbed by people's outlook in the neighborhood for street-connected children. RDWA recognizes that youth holds the ultimate power to bring change in society, thus creating a pool of youth change-makers who understand the mechanisms of self-change and are committed to creating an empathetic society for children.
