READ NepalREAD Nepal was established in 1991 under the leadership of Dr. Antonia Neubauer, who was inspired by a local trekking guide who had told her that he wanted to see a library built in his village. After 15 years of successful program implementation READ Nepal has been awarded with Access to Learning Award 2006 by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Thereafter on 2007, READ Global headquarters in Washington DC got the replication grant from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and this model has been replicated in other countries – India and Bhutan and now in the process of expansion in other countries. Our sincere gratitude goes to our parent organization READ Global for establishing READ Nepal and developing innovative approach to serve rural population.What is Community Library and Resource Centers?Community Library and Resource Center (CLRC) is self sustained local educational institution for rural communities to provide various learning opportunities and services for promoting education, economic and social development of the local communities. It is an innovative strategy to implement non-formal education, health, community development and life-long learning activities at community. The library service in CLRC is totally free of charge. The services of library are accessible to all equally.
