Formally known as PVSOC (the Photovoltaics Society), the Renewable Energy Society (RESOC) is the UNSW School of Photovoltaics and Renewable Energy Engineering's constituent student society. RESOC (as it is today), was founded in 2012, and has the aim of providing both undergraduate and postgraduate students in SPREE with opportunities to broaden their social and professional networks. RESOC hosts a variety of events ranging from social events BBQs and Trivia Nights, to more serious events such as Internship Info Nights and Industry Fairs. At the moment, RESOC is run by an executive team of 11 members: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Arc Delegate, Industry Rep, Social Media/Marketing Director, International Rep, Postgrad Rep, First Year Rep and Second Year Rep. The past Presidents of RESOC are: Guljit Bates (2012), Daniel Moctezuma-Baker (2013), Jack Blackwell (2014), Shira Samocha (2015), Amit Chopra (2016), Kate Lindsay (2017), David Richardson (2018), Angela Begg (2019), Holly Loosmore (2020), Ashleigh Nicholls and Dylan Pathirana (2021).
