MissionTo restore dignity & capacity in men facing adversity to breakthrough from poverty & hardship. VisionEvery man a better man.About RISERISE Community is a charity set up in 2021 to support men to manage life stressors in positive ways so as to contribute to stable families and society.There is little research on the condition and needs of men as well as its causes-and effects in Singapore, and few programmes to drive men's holistic socio-emotional-physical wellbeing to complement economic pursuit. Existing research suggests that negative male masculinity makes it difficult for men to seek help or practice positive coping behaviors. The long-term consequences present itself as a vicious cycle of distortion of male modelling, dysfunctional families, abuse, pornography, radicalisation and aggression, which leads to unstable societies. This may be even more accentuated amongst vulnerable men i.e. those who face multiple stressors and, or recipients of social service interventions.Through our philosophy of developing Resilience, Integrity, Strength and Energy in men, we build scaffolds to allow the men to climb toward their aspirations, while working with other social service partners to meet their basic needs.We envision a community of transformed men who are role models of healthy masculinity and socio-emotional-physical wellbeing.
