Consultant for Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
Rutgers WPF is a merger of Rutgers Nisso and the World Population Foundation (WPF), two renowned organizations with quite extensive experience in promoting sexuality and reproductive health, as well as in eliminating violence. In Indonesia, Rutgers WPF began its program in 1997 under the name of World Population Foundation (WPF). WPF changed its name to Rutgers WPF following a merger with Rutgers Nisso in 2010, as both organizations share common goals, i.e.: to improve the quality of human life and eliminate violence. To ensure that the organization, whose name was later changed to Rutgers WPF Indonesia, continues to benefit people around the world and the people of Indonesia, Rutgers WPF Indonesia has continued to work in the country by sharing its expertise, ranging from comprehensive sexuality education, addressing issues of violence against women and children, providing access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, as well as promoting diversity and tolerance. In addition to Indonesia, Rutgers WPF also works in Europe, Africa and Latin America. As a result of the international conference on population and development in Cairo, Egypt in 1994, the Cairo Program of Action has inspired Rutgers WPF and serves as guideline through its course of works, i.e. to empower young people, women and marginalized people to become the subject of the development to be fully in charge of their own body.
