Fine Art - Stratford-upon-Avon, England, United Kingdom
Rye Creative Centre is an established cultural hub providing a unique studio resource within East Sussex for professional artists from across the visual and performance spectrum to develop, design and make new work alongside a programme of performances, events and workshops for the local and wider community. As such it is home to New Road Artists, the studio holders' collective of sculptors, painters, photographers, textile artists, illustrators, designers, architects and makers. In 2020 Martello Developments took over the lease of Rye Creative Centre, undertaking significant upgrades to the building with a new gallery and workshop space due to open soon. Originally the Freda Gardham School (1933-2008), the building was decommissioned in 2008 and B&R Productions founded The School Creative Centre (now Rye Creative Centre) in 2009, turning the huge, airy building into a place of creative excellence. In 2014 B&R Productions handed over the management of the building to the charity ARRCC and New Road Artists studio holders' collective was formed.
