ForAfrika has been at the forefront of the war against hunger since 1984, when founder, Peter Pretorius, was left stranded in Pambarra, Mozambique. There he witnessed the horrific consequences of starvation with children dying everyday around him. Together with his wife Ann, they resolved to commit their futures to contributing towards the eradication of hunger in Africa.Today, ForAfrika's development as an aid organization closely mirrors the strong development progress in the countries we work in: South Africa, Angola, South Sudan, and Mozambique. From initially only providing lifesaving nutritional relief in one country, ForAfrika has progressed to providing additional specialized programs to match the needs of these developing nations.Vision:Helping Africa Help ItselfMission:To empower Africans to create better lives for themselves.Goals:- To Help Africa Help Itself by using our Complete Community Development Approach in order to: - Save lives through the provision of nutritional food, water and sanitation.- Sustain lives through health & social programs such as HIV/Aids training, smallholder farmer assistance, skills -development, nutrition & health education.- Improve lives through education, technical training and transitional finance.- Create better lives by providing linkages to sustainable commercial business development.
