We are craftsman of wine and we want to share our passion with Houston!Our guests can blend their own personal vintage, bottle and custom label it -all inside of our operating winery- and enjoy some simple dishes that pair perfectly with wine! Guest can taste, have a glass or a bottle of wine of over 30 varietals.As a first in Houston, our winery also offers wine delivery to your door! Speak to Szilvia (yes, that is with a "z") and ask her how!Sable Gate Winery is owned and operated by a couple, Szilvia Konya and Bob Egan.Szilvia was born and raised in Hungary to crop and wine farmer parents. She grew up surrounded by the quaintest vineyards of Hungary and learnt really early in life about the hard work that goes into growing grapes. Now she wants to share her decades old love of wine with the city!Bob has always been a beer enthusiast up until Szilvia introduced him to the world of wine almost 20 years ago in Hungary. Bob, born and raised in Boston, never tasted good wine before, but once he developed a palate for it, he made it his mission to try as many as he could! His passion is Old World Italian and French wine, but he didn't say no to trying Chinese red! His professional work took him to over 50 countries in the World and he never failed to try local wine!Szilvia and Bob have 10 year old twin girls, Lillian and Alexandra, who are as enthusiastic about the winery as their parents, and often talk about owning their own winery once they grow up.
