When individually intrigued by the condition of scores of migrant workers in the wake of a pandemic, the determination of a confluence of development professionals ideated the "COVIMPACT" project of the Sakshyam Foundation. It aspires to unearth the ground realities and devise mechanisms to change them. We're a team of seven members working for diverse domains of the development sector. The COVID-19 crisis and the resultant plight of the migrant workers that we all witness today caused genesis of the project. Team COVIMPACT conducted an impact assessment study of Covid-19 on the informal sector specifically with respect to migrant workers by directly engaging with them to unravel the ground realities. The study was conducted in the states of Uttar Pradesh,Rajasthan by our on-field volunteers in the months of May and June 2020.
