At Samambu, we believe in the power of plants! Bamboo can grow a yard a day and absorbs more CO2 per acre than trees, and it has long been used as a durable, flexible and strong building material. We use the strongest part of bamboo--its fibers--and have developed the technology to turn them into a thin, flexible sheet for use as a bamboo fiber composite. Our bamboo material is a plastic reinforcement, which means it can be added to plastic parts ranging from hockey sticks to chairs or even cell phone cases, and the end products use 50% less plastic, 90% less energy to produce and have higher strength and rigidity than the original plastic part. All of this, and because bamboo is an incredibly renewable resource our product has a virtually unlimited supply!Our company is dedicated to developing new ways of harnessing the power of plants, and we believe that the next generation of renewable, recyclable bio-based materials is already growing all around us. Not only will these new materials help reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and reduce our pollution, but the increased need for "super plants" like bamboo will help fuel a new generation of farmers, providing economic power that can help lift developing nations all around the world.
