Rob Ribnick, a Minnesota native, joined Regis Corporation after graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. When he began in 1984, the Edina-based operator of hair salons had just 250 salons. Over the next 20 years, Rob rose in the company ranks, traveling around the globe with the firm as it grew into a worldwide chain 12,000 salons strong. Along the way Rob and his wife Sue welcomed twin sons, and he ascended to the COO of the MasterCuts division.The experience that Rob gained at Regis was invaluable, but waking up on 9/11 far from his family reset his priorities: It was time to pour his enthusiasm and know-how into a project that he loved but also allowed him to cook dinner every night for his wife and sons. And so that is how Rob founded Thebetterpillow.com after years of experimenting with a variety of innovative materials and shapes for pillow fillings before finally coming across a specially engineered polyurethane and open cell gel memory foam formed into a unique Z-shape.
