Memento Mori – remember, we all must die. Its not if, its when. Why not be prepared, and then freed up to live? Helping people face mortality is life-giving to me! I am an advocate, a travel companion, a buddy for the trenches, and an encourager. I've spent about half my life captivated by hospice and palliative care as a healthcare professional and mentor. I want to help create a future that provides people who are in the fourth and final quarter of life an opportunity to be prepared spiritually, emotionally, socially, and practically for a positive and peaceful ending to their lives; and to become fully known as they reflect on their own life story. I support community efforts to educate the public and healthcare professionals about how to open up the dialogue about death, dying, infirmity, and quality of life in an age of advanced medical technology. My services are unique because they are based on tools and practices that I have created over time. I can work with people who are approaching end of life who need palliative and hospice care, but I am also interested in moving "upstream" to engage people in pre-emptive, purposeful preparation for the last years, even decades, of life. I can: • close a gap in knowledge or understanding about how you interact with the healthcare system and community services,• facilitate a full-bodied reflection on your life-story, • help you identify your values, strengths, beliefs, and purpose,• help you build a support and accountability system,• help you create advance care planning for any season of infirmity, including how to decide who would be the best choice for a surrogate decision-maker when you are unable to speak for yourselfIf any of this resonates with you, if you are in your "fourth quarter" of life and would like support for yourself or for a loved one who is in your care, or if you like to plan ahead and dig deep, please contact me. I would love to travel with you!
