The duo actually met in New York a few years before the formation of the band when Chasedemoed an early version of "Top Drop" to Daniel with nothing but a Casio keyboard. Theyreconnected some time later when Chase was hanging out with anyone, but musicians. Out ofdesperation to make music with someone, he asked his pals to hook him up with any musicallyinclined people they knew. His friends obliged and introduced him to a bass player named Daniel,the same Daniel that had the privilege of hearing "Top Drop" in the raw. It turns out Daniel waspartial to the guitar, but faked it during their first week of making music together. Finally, hecame clean about his guitar prowess and the duo started laying down the tracks.At first it was for fun. The guys were fooling around with different sounds, not sure if they wouldever be taken seriously. Slowly, but surely, they started to assemble what would become their firstalbum. Helping to mold their self-titled debut is producer, Passion Pit's own snyth master Ayad AlAdhamy.
