Students Educating & Encouraging Development (SEED) is an organization with the long term vision of eradicating financial illiteracy. SEED is designed to have trained college students mentor and teach 7th and 8th grade students basic financial and business concepts.The program curriculum covers a variety of topics including: money, inflation, personal finance, taxes, and college preparation. Embedded in SEED's curriculum are also activities such as case competitions, and college campus visits for the middle school students. A primary objective of the program is to introduce students to crucial concepts that will allow them to thrive in today' s world. SEED founders are currently filing for 501(c)(3) tax exempt status as they look to bring their program into other universities, hoping to impact as many lives as possible.
