Nonprofit Organization Management - Morogoro, Mkoa wa Morogoro, Tanzania
SEGA removes barriers that impact girls' and women's lives by providing a quality and holistic education that enables girls to make a positive impact within Tanzanian society. In addition to its programs, SEGA provides a platform thatnurtures girls to become empowered women, capable of planning and shaping their own futures. SEGA has demonstrated that, when girls/ women from marginalized communities are given basic needs, safety, and are equipped with necessary life skills education, they can achieve both academic and personal success. Essential health sensitizationeducation, life skills and financial literacy education that is being provided to the girls changes their perspective in life and enables them to see that there is more to life than their current situations. Furthermore, this empowerment coupled with safe and supportive opportunities of expressions and participations in various forums/clubs enables them to freely fight the myriad of societal issues affecting their lives negatively such as gender-based violence, female genital mutilation, teenage pregnancies, and early marriage. Overall, SEGA aims to help girls and women reach their utmost potential in everything they choose to do, through developing their confidence in decision-making, communication, and organizational skills; increasing their awareness of human rights and sexual and reproductive health; and finally providing them with options of being leaders in their own lives and communities.
