Serge Betsen Academy is an organisation created by Serge Betsen in 2004. For 18 years, SBA has helped more than 7,000 disadvantaged children mostly in Cameroon by using rugby to support their development and to offer a route to education and healthcare. In October 2020, a SBA branch has been opened in Bamako, Mali.Since 2004, SBA has supported over 7,000 children in its six centres in Cameroon and Mali, run six infirmaries and served 12,000 meals in 2020 notably thanks to the SBA Coop harvests (a farming cooperative run by mothers of SBA children), secured a baccalaureate success rate always above the national average, reaching 70% in 2020, built 5 wells and 3 water towers, set up 16 solar panels. SBA also provided 5.3 tons of supplies, enabled 200 young people to play rugby in 2020 and made lots of dreams come true.
