Nonprofit Organization Management - Scottsdale, Arizona, United States
Severson Sisters is an organization passionate about inspiring girls to live their lives as their authentic, awesome, super, self. We are committed to ensuring that every girl who participates in the Severson Sisters' afterschool program, called Connections, will feel the positive impact of the respect with which she is treated, the relationships we invite her to build and the creative and artistic skills we will help her discover and cultivate. We will offer each girl life-changing tools that she will carry with her through her teens and beyond that will inspire her to value her own self and skills as well as those of other girls and women she encounters. Severson Sisters has created a program, called Connections, for middle school girls that uses creative arts as a tool for girls to express themselves while building self esteem and developing friendships with other girls their age. Each week Connections will focus on one creative element such as movement, writing, art and cooking. Guest Volunteers with training in these outlets are invited to work with the girls on various objectives each week. Our Program Mentors and Social Mentors will lead the program each week along our Guest Volunteers. The girls will receive opportunities to journal throughout the program, as well as tap into their creative self and enhance their self esteem.
