Shaharit was initiated by the Heschel Center for Environmental Learning and Leadership, and aims to fashion a new agenda for progressive politics in Israel. Shaharit brings together thinkers and activists from the wide spectrum of communities already working today towards building here a society that is sustainable socially, culturally, economically, politically and environmentally. It aims to articulate the vision these communities share, and to build upon it to set in motion a broad movement for cultural and social change. Shaharit is generously supported by grants from the Nathan Cummings Foundation and the Ford Foundation.
