The Shane Victorino Foundation (SVF) is dedicated to promoting opportunities for underserved youth by engaging in projects which provide children in need with educational, recreational and wellness programs.SVF's first major project was pledging nearly $1 million to renovate the century-old Nicetown Boys & Girls Club, located in an impoverished area of Philadelphia and in dire need of repair. In 2011, the Club reopened as the "Shane Victorino Nicetown Boys & Girls Club," making it one of only a handful of clubs named in honor of an MLB player. In Shane's native Hawaii, we are helping to provide after-school tutoring, mentoring programs, leadership training, among other much-needed resources. In 2013, the "Shane Victorino Foundation Batting Cage" was dedicated in Waipio, Hawaii, after the Foundation granted funds towards its construction. The Foundation also held its 1st annual Youth Baseball Clinic in December 2012, bringing nearly 150 children together to learn from MLB players and local high school coaches, hone their skills on the field, as well as hear from Shane the importance of working hard and dreaming big! During the off-season, SVF hosts a toy drive for underprivileged children in Las Vegas. In addition, the Foundation held a holiday party in December for close to 200 youth facing homelessness, poverty and other crisis. The event included lunch, toys, games and a photo with Santa.
