Sindh Chess Association was established in 1960 at Karachi. Sindh Chess Association has long been working for the promotion of the Mind Sport of Chess. Since its existence, the Association has earned a name at National and International Levels.Many players from Sindh especially from Karachi have represented Pakistan in Asian Cities at Dubai in 1988. NM Muhammad Waqar participated in the Asian Junior chess Championship in Hongkong in 1982. FM Omer Khan, participated in the world Chess Olympiad at Dubai in 1986. There are many more talented Chess Players in Karachi like Zaheer ud Din Farooqui, Mehmood Khan, Saeed-uz-zafar, Dr. Zulfiqar Ahmed but unfortunately, they had never been recognized and patronized. Karachi District Chess Association has produced many talented chess players who were awarded the Title of National Master by Chess Federation of Pakistan.1). Mr. Hanif Qureshi 2). Mr. Riaz Ahmed 3). Mr. Shahnawaz KhanNational Honour Earned by Karachi Players:• Mr. Mehmood Khan from Karachi was the first player of the Sindh who won the Title of National Champion1980• Mr. Shahzad Mirza won the National Chess Championship 1984.• Mr. Asad Rizvi Won the First National Junior Chess Championship 1980• Mr. Haseeb Ahmed Won the National Junior Chess Championship in 1984• Ms. Zenobia Won the Title of National Women Master ( NWM ) in 2000.• Ms. Zenobia won the Title of National Women Chess Champion in 2000.•• Mr. Omer Khan secured 4th position in CommonWealth Chess Championship in Hong Kong in 1984• Mr. Omer represented in Five World Chess Olympiads in:1.
