Smith&Press specializes in "Translating the Renaissance". We create translations & facsimiles of 15th to 17th Century Medieval & Renaissance books predominantly from Latin, Greek, French, Italian and German into English. Our goal is to produce inaccessible Special Collections titles in English so that Professors and Scholars can utilize these works in a teaching capacity and so they may simply be enjoyed by the individual rare book collector or enthusiast. Access is provided by creating these translations and facsimiles in both printed and digital format. Our research and reference environment (www.thelibraryconnection.com), allows educators to teach using the material without having the issue of copyright and fair use limitations.
