Nonprofit Organization Management - Merced, California, United States
SEEN (SocioEnvironmental and Education Network) is a science-driven 501c3 nonprofit organization created to serve vulnerable stakeholders and children in California. Our team focuses on empowering children and adults through (bilingual) education, and to promote environmental justice advocacy in rural disadvantaged communities. We write reports, articles, and academic publications about climate change and its impacts on people, ecosystems, agriculture, the economy, and infrastructure (for example, California Climate Change Assessment for the San Joaquin Valley Region published by the Government of California). Among our environmental and climate justice projects, we focus on water quality, air quality, and sustainable energy, and we study and promote multi-benefit land repurposing to improve socioeconomic and environmental conditions for vulnerable stakeholders. We started in 2016 as a group of graduate students at UC Merced (most of us are doctors now working in different countries). In 2019 we formalized our group into a nonprofit organization to be able to pursue more efficiently our mission to provide education democracy and environmental, climate, and socioeconomic justice. Please, consider donate to our organization to support our projects.
