Founded in 1977, the Société historique de la Saskatchewan is a non-profit organization registered as a charity. The mission goal to research, preserve and transmit the history of the Francophone presence in Saskatchewan.The Société historique de la Saskatchewan is the leader of French-speaking heritage in Saskatchewan. As a generalist, these activities cover a large area of intervention grouped around four mandates:1. To collect, protect and preserve the tangible and intangible heritage relating to the history of Francophones in Saskatchewan, with a view to processing them and then archiving them for the benefit of the greatest number.2. Transmit the history and Francophone heritage of Saskatchewan, by implementing community activities, projects and publications for the public.3. Support and enrich French-language education by developing activities, resources and educational tools in various media, in order to promote the history and Francophone heritage of Saskatchewan.4. Encourage and present historical research in order to deepen knowledge of the history and Francophone heritage of Saskatchewan.
