Speakeasy was founded in Lijiang by a Chinese man from Xian, and an American man from New York City. Their goal was to create a top quality English retreat, where people could not only study English and Chinese, but also enjoy the beautiful scenery, sights, and atmosphere of Lijiang. And so they created not just a place with modern classrooms, but with great food, clean and comfortable guest rooms, a relaxing bar and courtyard, and much more, right beside the quiet gardens of Black Dragon Pond.
