Retail - Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
Spoonful Apparel creates fun, comforable apparel with inspiring messages, and donates 50% of our profits to non-profit organizations working to end childhood hunger in the United States. Spoonful also creates corporate and event-based apparel with the same 50% giveback, allowing our corporate and event partners to achieve their social responsibility goals. Spoonful Apparel's founder, Susan Elwer, grew up in a single parent household in St. Paul, MN that relied on welfare for food, housing, and healthcare. In 2015, she had a vision to create an new apparel brand with inspiring messages that would spark a new conversation. She had an idea, but she hadn't found her purpose. In 2016, Susan learned about a 4 year-old boy in her pre-school class who'd gone the first 3 months of the year without lunch. In that moment, Susan recognized an opportunity to be part of the solution - and ultimately found the purpose behind her apparel brand. Since launching in August 2017, Spoonful Apparel has created more than 65,000 meals for children in the United States.
