The New York Times calls the company "sensuous and fierce...with refreshing directness," and TimeOut NY says, "Impressive." About one-quarter of its students receive scholarship aid. Students often advance into premier programs such as of School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre's JKO School, The Rock School, the Kirov Academy, LaGuardia High School and PPAS. Graduates have won roles on Broadway, appeared at Lincoln Center and earned positions with major dance companies. The organization is recognized by the NYC Department of Education and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs. The Ballet's sprung-floor studios are in its landmark building on the campus of Sea View / Farm Colony in the Greenbelt nature preserve, 460 Brielle Avenue, Staten Island NY, 718-980-0500. www.siballet.org.
