STREICHERS is a soft commodity trading business. Buying primarily grain from farmers in the Western Cape region of Southern Africa. Streicher Commodities is a family business owned by the Streicher family. The first Streicher, Simon August Friedrich arrived in the town of Swellendam in the year 1795. His son was the first of the Streichers to become a farmer. Ever since the family arrived in Swellendam, during the early pioneering days, they were involved with the agricultural activities of the region. Today the 7th generation manages the family estate and it is also some of the 7th generation that started trading with grain rather than producing it. Acquiring first experience in offshore trading and at a later stage starting to deal directly with the farmers domestically.
