Uppsala BIO support growth and international competitiveness in life science. Uppsala BIO is an independent and not-for-profit actor and a significant driving force for many developments within the region. The organization ensures a holistic perspective and offers a neutral meeting place. We bring together relevant expertise and resources from the universities, companies, healthcare, and society to support a wide variety of collaborations, projects and events. Focus is on transforming original, innovative ideas into attractive investment opportunities for national and international investors or companies. The open innovation program BIO-X is the single largest operation.The BIO-X programs enable participants to take innovative ideas through to initial proof of concept – the first critical step towards potential commercialization. As always the aim is to support life-science related projects that, in the long term, have potential to benefit society. Continued collaboration – regional, national, and international – is vital for the sector to continue to develop and grow. For example the success of the BIO-X model has been widely recognized and 2014 the program went nationwide.
