The Sustainable Initiative Fruit and Vegetables (SIFAV) aims to actively contribute to a more sustainable fresh fruit and vegetable supply chain regarding economic, environmental, and social impacts. The purpose of this platform is to create a partnership for aligned policies, targets, and collaborative action, to be more effective towards reaching a more sustainable fresh fruit and vegetable sector. Launched by IDH in 2012, SIFAV has become a pan-European initiative with over 30 partners, including retailers, brands, traders, producers, and civil society organizations.Early 2021 SIFAV launched its program for the next five years under the name of SIFAV 2025, with a clear focus on reducing the environmental footprint across the supply chain, improving working conditions, wages, and incomes, and strengthening due diligence reporting and transparency.
