With many years of business and design experience, Yael Ben had already owned a restaurant in Miami, a Coffee House with a gift shop and was a prominent vendor and product supplier for Disneyland in Anaheim, California before she founded Sweet Roli in early 2013. Yael decided to embark onto something more creative and left her job with Disney but was unsure exactly what she wanted to do.After a spontaneous creative burst in late 2012, Yael Ben decided to create an elegant and classy gift basket filled with the most delicious candies and sweets for a family birthday party. As the guests arrived they would not stop asking Yael where she had purchased such an intricate gift basket and how much it had cost. When her family and friends discovered that Yael had arranged the edible baskets by hand she was immediately inspired and encouraged to start her own company – and thus, Sweet Roli was born.
