Frank Mannion is the managing director of the award winning movie and virtual reality production, sales and distribution company, Swipe Films. It was founded in 2002 and is one of the few vertically integrated movie and VR companies in Europe. Mannion produced the independent hits, Grand Theft Parsons, starring Johnny Knoxville, Michael Shannon and Christina Applegate, and Jackboots On Whitehall, with Ewan McGregor and Rosamund Pike. Swipe Films has built up a valuable library of over 25 films, winning over 100 awards at major festivals around the world, including the Cannes and Sundance Film Festivals. Mannion is also Senior Lecturer in Film Marketing and Distribution at Birmingham City University. He is a law graduate from Trinity College Dublin and Trinity Hall Cambridge. The Swipe Film Fund was created in 2012 and invests in British and international productions. It produced Get Lucky, starring Luke Treadaway for Universal Pictures, and the 3D animated Christmas movie, Saving Santa, with Martin Freeman, Noel Clarke, Tim Curry and Joan Collins. Other productions include the crime thriller, Plastic, which was filmed on location in Miami and London and was released by Paramount Pictures, and the romantic comedy, Taking Stock (with Kelly Brook) for Netflix.Swipe's new Virtual Reality division was launched in September 2017 and it created the world's first ever Virtual Reality Trailer App for an independent film for Marie Curie: The Courage of Knowledge.
