Food Production - Castelletto d'Orba, Piemonte, Italy
Monferrato has always been a great wine country where vineyards on the best terrains and exposures alternate with lush forest land.On these green hills, Tacchino Winery is situated on 25 hectares, about half of which are planted. On the South and South-east exposure, a natural amphitheatre and white soils protect the vineyards from the northern winds. Low production per hectare also allows a careful nurture of the product to achieve excellent quality. The harvest takes place at optimal times throughout September and October. Grapes are carefully handpicked, selected and boxed in the vineyard with meticulous attention for the traditions of direct contact between the land and the product.
