Tall People United is a new volunteer-run fundraising organisation in Melbourne. It is the brainchild of two forward-thinking and innovative Melbournians - Petra Tyers and Steve Lunardon - who saw a gaping hole in the social community for tall people. Before long, the concept to hold social networking events for Tall Adults & Tall Teens in 2009 emerged - the proceeds of which will directly benefit the next generation - here in Australia and abroad. The organisation has chosen two charities - KidsHelpLine here in Australia, and Kampuchea House in Cambodia (see Charities page for more information). It is TPU's long-term goal to stage the 2015 Love Ya Genes event at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.Tall People United is working towards these key goals for 2009: - Provide social networking for Australia's tall adults and teenagers - Showcase the current fashions now available to tall people - Promote Australian small businesses that are creating niche products for tall people - Support and promote children-oriented charities, especially those that encourage the importance of good self image - Create a new Guiness World Record for the largest group of tall people in a confined area - which we have done so every year we will beat it !!!!!
