How often have you driven around the streets of your neighbourhood and seen the abundance of casual workers standing on the side of the road, waiting for someone to stop and offer them a part time job.How disheartening and degrading this must be for those individuals who have a skill to offer but face a number daily of challenges, including;• No way of accessing the market demand,• Not knowing where they will be working and for who,• Ever increasing transport costs incurred on a daily basis without a fixed prospect,• Unscrupulous employers who flout the labour laws and disregard workers rights and safety.Further to that, there are countless skilled artisans, painters, plumbers, handymen, pavers, gardeners, etc. who are unable to access that same market demand easily and efficiently. Then, on the other side of the gap, you have the potential employers of this casual workforce who;• Don't feel comfortable and stopping picking someone up on the side of the road,• Need a specific type of skill but can reliably find it,• Would like a reliable resource at an agreed cost.TAMTF (NPC) "Teach A Man To Fish......" was started in order to bridge that gap, and by doing so make life a little easier (and dignified) for those that want to do an honest day's work for a living wage, while giving individuals and companies (that have a need) easy and reliable access to these skills and resources. The objective of TAMTF (NPC) is to uplift, educate and empower unemployed members of its community by putting unemployed labourers in contact with prospective part time employers in their area.TAMTF's core value are;1. Dignity for all,2. Fair pay for fair work,3. Empowerment through education,4. Community awareness and co-operation.
