Our mission is to raise awareness about responsible use of plasticvia a multi-faceted approach:(1) Change Government Policies(2) Awareness & Education (3) Ocean, Rivers and Beach Clean-upsThis is reflected in the team's choice of charities and non-profit organizations. We will be donating to Azraq and Plastic Oceans UK.The damage to marine wildlife and fragile eco-systems is becoming critical. Work needs to begin now to reverse the tide of ocean pollution before the eco-systems collapse forever.Team Peninsula comprises of Sam, Will and Toby.Sam and Will are ultra-endurance athletes and Toby is a former British army officer. The team have a passion for pushing limits, physical endurance and testing the human spirit. Inspired by their endless quest for adventure and their desire to conserve the oceans to help relieve them from plastic pollution, Team Peninsula have entered TWAC 2021.The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is the premier event in ocean rowing - a challenge that will take rowers more than 3000 miles west from San Sebastian in La Gomera, Canary Islands to Nelson's Dockyard English Harbour in Antigua & Barbuda. The annual race begins in early December with up to 30 teams participating from around the world.Team Peninsula are seeking Partners to help raise awareness about plastics in our oceans and the damage this is causing to the fragile marine environment. All funds above the cost of expedition will be donated to our chosen charities.The expedition is being funded by a combination of the Team Peninsula crewand the support of selected Partners. Partners will benefit from alignment with the "The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge" which receives international press coverage as "The World'sToughest Row."
