San Diegans know there's more to our city than Shamu and perfect weather. Technology is being innovated, humanitarian leaders are making real change in people's lives, and a thriving community of artists and designers are waiting for their chance to speak. TEDxAFC wants to give them that chance, and better yet – give people a chance to hear what they have to say. Our speakers are locals inspired by what they do – with a unique ability to inspire others.\\TED was founded in 1984. The annual TED conference brings together the world's leading thinkers and doers to share ideas that matter in a variety of disciplines – technology, entertainment, science, humanities, business, art, design. Short talks, demonstrations and performances are given by hand-picked beacons of inspiration, and all volunteer their time and expertise for no money.
