What is TED?TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. It began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and evolved to become a universal platform discussing seemingly countless topics — from science, to business, to environmental issues — in more than 100 languages. TED's mission though remained the same through the years: the promotion of ideas worth spreading.What is TEDx?TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." It supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community. A TEDx event is organized by volunteers from the local community, and just like TED events, it lacks any commercial, religious or political agenda. The goal is to spark conversation, connection and community.What is TEDxPanteionUniversity?TEDxPanteionUniversity is an initiative of students and graduates of the various departments of Panteion University and constitutes a non-profit project that focuses on spreading innovative ideas through student involvement. It is the first time an event such as this is being held under the auspices of Panteion University.
