Dr. Sanduk Ruit and Mr Tej Kohli are united in their mission to create a lasting legacy of social and economic change in developing countries by screening 1,000,000 people and curing up to 500,000 of needless cataract blindness. Over 90% of the world's 40 million blind people live in low-income countries where approximately half are blind because of cataracts. Freedom from visual impairment such as cataract blindness transforms lives and helps in rebuilding communities.Our worldwide mission to cure blindness means that we are curing blindness and building community eye hospitals in the world's poorest communities. We're taking our microsurgical outreach camps to Nepal, India, Indonesia, Bhutan, Myanmar, Bangladesh, North Korea, Afghanistan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Lebanon and Syria.The Tej Kohli & Ruit Foundation is funded entirely from the private capital of Tej Kohli and the Kohli family. Our services are delivered globally thanks to the world-class expertise of Dr. Sanduk Ruit.
