Food Production - Trecastagni, Sicilia, Italy
The winery was born in 2004 with the will to resume the ancient art of wine in places where heroic viticulture has always been an established part of the local history. Hence the desire to preserve the heritage of Etna, recovering antique vines, creating new terraces on which the vineyards rest, and renovating age-old rural buildings. The location is enchanting, located on the steep slope of Mount Ilice, a millenarian extinct crater, at 750m above sea level, and embedded within the park of Etna. The great exposure to East also allows enjoying an incredibly amazing view, overlooking the Ionian Riviera, the Bay of Taormina, and the Strait of Messina. The Estate extends for about 11 hectares, half of which are cultivated with native varieties of vines, such as Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, employed for the production of excellent Etna DOC wines.
