TESOC was established in 1978 and was registered as a not-for-profit organization. Ever since, it has been providing invaluable support services and programs to the community. We have 40 multilingual staff members and approximately 30 volunteers. The main service provided by TESOC is Settlement Services for newcomers to Canada, regardless of their cultural background. TESOC's services are provided in more than 13 languages. Additional services provided by TESOC are: Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC), childminding services for LINC clients, the Women Assisting Women program, family counselling, translation and basic notary services, mental health and wellness programs and the senior program. The implementation of these programs and services are made possible by support from primary funders: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), City of Toronto and Service Canada.
