WELCOME To the Becky Baker Foundation Page!"I'M JUST SORRY THAT NO ONE WILL EVER REMEMBER MY NAME."On December 17, 2013, Becky Baker was given just three months to live after being diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer. She refused the doctor's timeline on her end of life, and through a newfound holistic lifestyle, lived 37 months beyond those three. The oncologists at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, who originally thought she was delusional for believing she could live longer than three months, today use Becky as a case study in how organic food, positive attitude and prayer may indeed extend the life of a terminally-ill breast cancer patient who refuses chemo or drugs. In those final minutes I had with her, I doubt she was aware that I was holding her hand and kissing her forehead. Then, suddenly, I watched her smile, and she took her last breath on this earth. No more pain, only joy for her now. Her journey was complete and my loss was Heaven's gain. One of the last things that Becky said to me was, "I'm just sorry that no one will ever remember my name."So, I promised her then that ‘no one would ever forget her name.' I have tried to honor that promise in launching The Becky Baker Foundation with its task of providing free mammograms and thermograms. Since 2017, we have given away over 2,000 mammograms and thermograms to honor Becky.Today, her name lives on. The Becky Baker Foundation has a simple goal, other than providing free screening, which is to change the national conversation from breast cancer awareness to breast cancer prevention. Because, the best way to beat breast cancer is to not get breast cancer. In her passing, Becky has saved hundreds of women who otherwise might have been lost. She will always be my hero. Please schedule your checkup today. Do it for you, for your family, and for Becky.
