Nonprofit Organization Management - New Hanover, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
The Benjamin Generation is an orphanage/child care center in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. We exist to rescue orphaned, abandoned, abused and neglected children. These children typically come from poor, rural communities and are placed with us via the Department of Social Development (DSD). We currently have 24 children in our care (10/07/2018) and have had the privilege of rescuing many more since our beginning. What we do:1) We operate a 24 hour a Place of Safety. We have capacity in Moore House for up to 36 children but have paused the intake of more children until we can secure more monthly funding.2) Build 5 long-term foster care homes that have capacity for another 30 children. We currently have 3 homes ready now the challenge is finding foster parents. We are in the process of screening applicants who are willing and able. 3) Develop a farming operation that will ultimately fund both 1 & 2 above.
