Located at the entrance to the University of British Columbia, The Boulevard Coffee Roasting Co. is a local, grassroots business with strong ties to its community. It's founder, John Chen, started the company when he was a Ph.D student in the Experimental Medicine program at UBC. The company was founded on a simple premise: buy, roast, and serve the finest coffees available. Every batch of coffee is carefully roasted fresh each week in our hand-built infrared roaster. With a PhD in science, Master Roaster John Chen has a unique knowledge and skillset to unlock the many potential flavors that lie dormant within a green bean. What is achieved is a delicate, nuanced, and balanced cup that best showcases the characteristics that make each single origin coffee unique.
