The Callahan Foundation is a family foundation based in Cleveland, Ohio whose mission is to provide grants to deserving non-profit organizations, primarily in Northeast Ohio. Started in 1968 by Francis Joseph ("Joe") Callahan and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Callahan, The Callahan Foundation is primarily focused on supporting the arts, higher education and social service endeavors. Since its inception, The Callahan family has provided grants totaling more than $10 million. Past grant recipients include The Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Institute of Music, MOCA Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University.
