The Center for Community Development Initiatives is a youth-led, youth designed organization that build youth-ages 12-25 community organizing skills and entrepreneurship CCDI's mission is to develop and empower youth and families to be leaders in their communities; by addressing their personal, social, and spiritual needs through awareness, education and advocacy. History: In 2004, The Center for Community Development Initiatives (CCDI), started out as violence prevention and intervention program serving fewer than 100 youth in one community and now serves over 1000 youth annually in nine Chicago communities: Englewood, West Englewood, Gage Park, Auburn Gresham, Chatham, Brighton Park, Pilsen, Little Village and Archer Heights. CCDI's programs have served more than 7,000 youth and families during 6 years by constantly evolving to address the ever-changing challenges that place youth and families at risk. CCDI's Purpose: The Center for Community Development Initiatives (CCDI) was formed in 2006, out of a need for the neighborhoods in the City of Chicago, and surrounding communities. In low to moderate disadvantaged communities, where the needs of the children, youth, and families would be met by a comprehensive set of initiatives using community inclusion and collaboration
