The Clergy Project Details

The Clergy Project (TCP) was launched in March 2011 in an effort to provide safe, anonymous online community for former and active religious professionals who no longer hold supernatural beliefs. Within the protection of a private online forum, well over 700 participants find a network of support and community as they freely discuss and assist in the challenges related to the leaving of ministry and the establishment of life beyond faith.Co-founded by former pentecostal preacher Dan Barker, along with Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, and Linda LaScola and with assistance from the Freedom From Religion Foundation and the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science, TCP is now its own well-structured 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Though TCP continues to evolve organizationally and expand its work, the online forum remains its centerpiece.
