The Fig Tree Children is a Brisbane based charity who raises awareness and sponsorship of orphaned and vulnerable children in Sierra Leone, West Africa. As a result of a 10 year civil war and more recently, the ebola virus, Sierra Leone now has over 12,000 orphaned or vulnerable children and The Fig Tree Children's mission is to support as many of these children 'one child at a time'. We started offering sponsorship of children September 1st 2015. We have a team of 4 people on the ground and we partner with Caritas, Freetown in Sierra Leone and we have 8 people here in Brisbane who are all dedicated to this cause.
