-The Furniture Station ceased operational activities in March 2018. -The Furniture Station, registered charity (1097219) provided re-used, good-quality furniture items to disadvantaged families and individuals within the Borough of Stockport in order to assist them to relieve poverty, prevent homelessness & support them in the establishment & maintenance of their tenancy. AIMS:- Improve the wellbeing of Stockport residents & allow them to establish a more stable & independent lifestyle- Support vulnerable people & their families to maintain their home - Reduce environmental pollution by collecting and re-using items that might otherwise go to landfill - Provide training opportunities and work placements to enable local, unemployed or disadvantaged people re-enter the labour market by gaining skills & disciplines
